Hi folks, the inspection sticker for my car is due this month, but I have a chk engine sign and if I went to get my car inspected it will fail? The chk engine sign stays for 1 week and goes away I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the car cause is runs great. Anyway, the month is about to end is there anyway I could get my car inspected without getting rejected? I don't want to spend couple hundred dollars to get that chk engine sign fixed.

 

if it eventually goes off I doubt there is anything wrong apart from soft stored codes but you will have to get them cleared, don't you know any one with a code reader??

 

the chk engine pops back up after like 100 miles or so. So it that the good time to get inspected? I don't know anyone with the code reader.

get a code clearer... they're like 50 or go to autozone they'll check and clear codes for you 4 free... or use the vag com locater and find someone in your area.. one of those options should be do-able and will get you to pass inspection...
