Default Installation procedure for cam etc. seals?

Some of our more learned bretheren suggest replacing the cam, intermediate shaft, and crank seals when doing an A4s timing belt... are these done by simply yanking the old out / push new ones back in?

plz and thx...

replacing the cams are not something you can do by yourself. you have to take apart your whole valvetrain.

Dumb question. With this being a 5 valve motor is it a twin cam ? Never even paid attention to this before.

Well, David would know about the cams. As for the seals, it's easier to do them while your doing the timing belt, you're there anyway. Of course, I didn't the first time. Fortunately they didn't start to leak until about 5,000 before I had to do the timing belt the second time. Have you done the valve cover gasket and cam adjustment seal yet?
