Default installed abd intake...question?

hey

Let me say first I know the issue of intake systems is a total toss up in the forums some people like em..and most say waste of money..anyway I got mine used and not a bad deal from a AF member and I thought I would try it out..

I will post some pics..but I installed my abd cold air intake system tonight on my car...super easy install like 45 min..thanks Kraylon for the pics..

.I went for a drive and I have a concern......and Ive never had a cone cold air intake system but I rev and it seems to rev harder and I def hear the turbo spool quicker but when I let off the gas its a huge whoosh sound like the dv isnt working right or something? Is that the right sound it doesnt seem right??

thanks any imput would be great...

The whoosh you are hearing is the DV doing it's job. You are hearing the trapped boost air returning to the input side of the turbo which is now not silenced by the stock airbox.

hold up!, you are not supposed to have a studder! you are supposed to have one solid pssh, I got a studder a couple days ago and it was a pretty big vac leak in the hose that runs to the intake manifold where you'd usually hook up the T for the boost guage...it sounds like a vaccum leak to me, the dv makes one solid sound, but when there is a leak it stutters....gl!
