RE: Intake Dilema
ya well all im saying is that when its hot out and i need to be somewhere or if its a long drive i will take it out. its not like i leave it out all the time. like its in now but when i drive home next week i will be driving all day and i will keep it out to keep my engine cooler

RE: Intake Dilema
go to home depot or lowes or any large hardware store and get a piece of metal for $5 then bend/cut it to fit in there it will be longer than the stock heatshield and will block that hot air...

RE: Intake Dilema
you know the lower black plastic vent pieces near the fog lights? would it make any difference if you dremeled out the one that is not a vent i think its the one with on the passenger side? or would taking the wheel well out completely be better for cold air?

Smoke U, i heard that is supposed to help a bit but I'm not sure.
Also, has anyone come up with a custom pipe job that goes down the front of the engine, or wheel well, to make it a true cold air intake? I know there's the Airbox Mod but I'm not talking about that. Even just an extra pipe/airway for cooler air? seems possible but i don't know anyone who's done it.

RE: Intake Dilema
kaklexicon, doing that may cause problems in the rain... ive read in previous posts that sometimes water will get into the filter while going through serious puddles causing bogging and whatever. Im sure taking the wheel well out would make that 10000x worse not to mention all the dirt that would get up in the engine bay. That would seem like a strictly racing solution.... but then again so does taking out a headlight lol
