what will that do? It seems as if there should be another part to it. Once i do all that what do i do? What do u think of just removing the airbox and putting a K&N cone filter on the end of the hose and then adding a heat shield?

Drive the car hard one day, then touch the airbox. it won't be hot, so the whole 'intake pulling in hot air' is false IMO. so i say: spank the cone on there if you trust K&N. wind will be passing the intake first, then past the engine. yes, you will be pulling in SOME more hot air than with the airbox (due to poor circulation), but you will also be pulling in so much more colder air that the overall temp of air will be dropped, along with more than enough air for the engine. i'll be slapping a CAI on my truck when i get it next month, sans heat shield, until someone convinces me otherwise. where's dave when you need him?

Yes the airbox wont be hot?????
the air box works like a Plenum it stores air befor its needed into
the mixture, as well as storing the air filter itself and contain any fire
caused by backfiring which doesnt happin that much on this cars
And this is the most inportant of them all to keep the noise down in the
engine bay...

slight gain... mainly just placebo. i'd save ur coin, get a CAI, finish it off with an exhaust.

well all i'm gonna say is don't put in in the wheel duct, cuz i know an idiot who did it and he drove in a big puddle and sucked a bunch of water into his engine, so then he had to replace the engine, and u know just cuz its an audi then a new engine woeld be huge amounts of money.
