Default Intake mod

Ya so I got an A4, ill post pics later, but right now I need to mod. So I took off the stock airbox and found the mass air flow which fits perfectly into the k&N filter I got. But on the bottom of the airbox it looks like another sensor maybe intake temp? Anyway I was wondering what to do with the sensor because if I just hook up the sensor then more heat will get to the sensor than on the stock airbox because of everything in the way. With this open filter the heat from the turbo will mess temperature reading up. So do you think I would be ok if I just plugged this sensor in and made a heatshield or will temperatures still be messed up?

There is no sensor in the air box. And you really dont want to set the filter right above the manifold, you should move it further back so you dont nuke the filter.

Ok dude i went out and looked again also had my brother look at it and he thinks there is a intake temp sensor in the bottom. I has like metal heat fins on the bottom and then deffinatly plugs into some sensor.

I think you're looking at the piece of ignition control module, it has a heat sink that's mounted with the metal side on the inside of the air box.

ICM is on top of the air box if its pre 2000. If its post 2000, there is a hole in the bottom-ish part of the airbox for the hose that goes to the 2ndary air pump.
