Default intake question

So i've been debating back and forth between doing the swiss cheese mod or getting an intake. I looked on ebay and wasn't shocked by what I found. I did find this and it looks like an ok deal. My big question is the add says it's for the b6 but it looks exatly the same and I don't know if there is any difference in the engine bay shape in that area. Also since I have a 2000 do I have to worry if the filter is only. doesn't the 2000 use a map sensor not a maf sensor.

Without a heat shield, all that thing is going to do is suck in hot air and hurt performance.

Drop in a panel filter in the stock box and be done with it.

If its noise you want, do the airbox mod/dv for more noise.

2000 has maf. they're known to go bad. i just have a drop in k&N, and from i've gathered here, w/out adding a heat shield, it's better than an add on kit. also, didi notice performance betterment w/the filter change. also, i did my 4 "mods" seperately, so let me know if you want feedback on any of them. expect to get tipchip in next month or so.

All A4's have MAF's. They're known to go bad because of the K&N filters. K&N oils the hell out of them and the excess oil gets on the MAF sensor, causing it to read bad. 2000+ A4's have a MAF sensor and a MAP sensor.

Get a plain ol' paper air filter. Put the cash you save towards an exhaust or chip.
