I just installed an intake yesterday in my 2.8, and every now and then i hear a wierd popping noise under my hood, its only happened twice.....anyone know what this could be?

 

pop like durning wut kind of driving are u curisin or gunning it

 

like 5-6 years ago my buddy had a 91 teg and he got an intake,well that day on the way homefrom work a packing peanut got stuck in his throttle body and made it stay wide open. lucky for him he shut it off before it blew up but he took it to two or three mechanics and they couldnt figure it out....... SORRY KINDA OFF TOPIC

 

just when im cruising, its only happened like twice though, can it be serious?what can it possible be?

 

just a guess. maybe a missfire that you didn't hear before. or a small back fire. corse you would prob bet a CEL with that stuff to. Duno

 

^would that be a big deal? or should i just ignore it, my CEL has been on since long before i installed the intake, because of my o2 sensor, which im getting fixed soon.

 

get it checked when u get ur o2 sensors done. I receomend doing it liek tomorrow just incase. Its gonna be the same cost now or later.

What kind of intake did u end up getting? From where?

 

Yeah you could be running lean and backfiring... god knows. Is your MAF ok? You didn't damage it, by chance?

 

Get that fixed, get the codes pulled and find out what your baby is trying to tell you. and do it soon.

 

should my intake be making a loud hollow rumbling sound at WOT past 3k RPM??? is this normal?
