Default Interior-mounted BOV

Hey, I had to get your attention somehow!

Here's the deal; whatever gear I'm in, if I coast along at a fairly decent rate with my foot lightly on the gas, I don't hear anything in the cabin. But if I suddenly stomp the accelerator down, and let off quickly, I hear a "PWWHSHWHSHHHHHH -- CAPTAIN JOHN PICARD OF THE USS ENTERPRISE, ENTERING HYPERWARP-LIGHTSPEED SUPERSONIC INTERGALACTICAL TRAVEL MODE, PREPARE FOR TAKEOFF" sound coming from my ... vents, I think?. It's very audible, it's loud; and, it only happens when I let of the gas quickly (not gradually -- just drop the accelerator). It doesn't matter what gear I'm in, how fast I'm going, or what my revs are, it seriously sounds like a BOV is right behind the vents.

Any sort of diagnostic, educated guess, general advice, or perscription medication is more than welcome. I hope cincy posts some good advice, but I don't think he will this time. []

im trying to think of anything else it could be. but it's late and im about to pass out.

but your heat and A/C work normally?

is there anything else you've noticed other than the BOV noise?

Yeah. Whenever I turn the car off, I can hear a really audible sound coming from the vents... the best way to personify it is to say that it's a sigh of relief. It sounds like the car is sighing, and it's coming from the vents. Also, the heater turns on when I drive the car hard, but that's normal. I've tried everything to the left-side of my control panel -- the right side is way too sticky.

Nope, stock DV. No boost gauge, either. I'm getting an APR R1 soo, probably on Monday. I've never had that issue before, but ****, I was going to replace it anyways. Might as well get a boost gauge while I'm at it, eh?

It will be -- I can afford it right now, but I want to wait the weekend and talk to the closest shop that sells the APR D1. How much is it going to be to have them install the DV, do you think?
