Just ordered an '06 and don't like the aluminum trim - I liked the wood trim less.

Can someone tell me if it is solid metal or aluminized plastic and, either way, whether it it paintable...

Will the aftermarket supply alternatives eventually?

carbon fiber. you'll see some aftermarket come out (or you can pick it up for $$$$$$ from audi) once the RS4 hits the market.

 

dont they have a solid color fiber glass trim

Carbon fibre..Its a bit, well... fake! looks great in a Macca F1, or a Koenigssesggsgsiiggssa, but as a dash ornament, I think it looks a bit naff... All IMHO you understand!

 

It is a solid textured aluminum. How could you not like it? Everyone who gets in my car absolutely loves it. It's stylish and modern. ECSTuning can get you carbon fiber if you like.

 

aluminum trim on black in the a4, is the nicest interior i have ever seen in a car.

honestly, audi does interiors like no other.

 

I don't like aluminum trims, either. In my opinion, it's too cheap-looking.

 

i think one think they can improve on is the guage cluster
