Default iPod Connector

I have a 2004 A4. I know there have been other threads devoted to connecting an iPod but I'm still very confused.

All I want to do is have a wire that I can connect my iPod to and plays directly through the stereo. I don't mind controlling the iPod on the device itself, and don't care if the name of the song scrolls on the car display. Can anyone recommend a device and where to purchase it? Also, will any mechanic be able to simply install it?

Thanks in advance

If there is a cassette player, just buy one of the adapters for like $20. Easy peasy

If you take it to the dealer for the ipod hookup....you'll probably spend about $400. $200 for parts and $200 for installation.
