Default IPOD Intergration

Hey,

I did a search and found tons or different options on intergrating an ipod into an a4.

I'm looking for the easiest and most cost efficient way.

Obviously, the easiest and cheapest would be using a tape adaptor or an FM Transmitter... How good of quality do these really get? I can't imagine it to be too great.

While searching the forums, I saw this : http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=733

This seems nice for 50 dollars. How hard would it be to install in a 98 a4 and does anyone use it?

I really can't afford to spend ~$200ish for the expensive stuff(dension ice etc.), so I'd like some alternatives if anyone has any.

Thanks

Thanks for the links man.

Anyone have an opinion on an FM Transmitter just for a quick fix since it's only like 15 dollars or so?

I've used iTrip FM transmitter. Looks Cool

If you don't mind radio quality i.e. slight hissing, its not bad.
Gets too much interference in traffics & city.
Works different in all the cars I've used on. Infact, the best it did work was on A4, sucks on Nissan.
Don't use it much anymore.

Bought AuxPod.

Many other choices available.

FM transmitter is good for keeping the music down at a low volume (by low, i mean windows closed..only loud enough for inside to hear), but it doesn't take advantage of your system if you wanna pump out some good music real LOUD.

I use my FM transmitter all the time, but it's time to switch over to a wired connection instead.

it becomes too much trouble trying to balance the volume on the ipod with the volume on the stereo to avoid static.

Thanks for the info. guys. I kinda figured FM Transmitters would be "ok" at best.

But listen to this... I was on my way up to Best Buy to get a Nano and whatever and I hit a deer on the highway going around 60mph.

Front end all smashed, fluids leaking everywhere...Had to tow it away. What Luck[&:][&:]

I seriously hate deer. Now I probably won't get my audi back for weeks, if I even get it back at all.

The quality of fm transmitters isn't really that good. They're real cheap and easy though.
