So after I cleaned out my MAF, replaced my spark plugs, and my air filter I took her for a test spin. My stupid clicking/ticking sound is back. Only this time its completely RPM related and it doesn't go away like it used to at certain speeds. As soon as I break 3k RPMs its there.


Since its nearly impossible to diagnose sounds over the internet I fear I am going to have to take it to a mechanic, I got a beat on a local guy who is supposedly good with German imports.

 

Do you have a boost gauge? You may have a vac leak. Cleaning your maf isnt always the solution to maf problems. You may have done more harm to it by cleaning it, somehow. If it detonated a little before, and since you cleaned your maf, it does the same thing but more, i would replace the maf. But check for vac leaks first, thats cheaper.
