So far with my 2001 a4 2.8 i've raced everything under the sun except muscle cars... And that's not by choice I just haven't had the chance... I've beat everything from gsx eclipses to 350z's (to 75 mph) to a done up cobalt ss... Last night as fate would have it i'm coming up on a small back highway home when I see two cars lined up next to each other and a bunch more behind them stopping traffic... So I get along side the two civic hatchbacks and they asked me if I wanted to race... Why the **** not is what I was thinking so I reved up... The guy who went out in front to start the race with his hands up threw em down really quick and I got a terrible start because I wasn't expecting him to do it so soon... I caught right up to the first hatch(who fell back quite a bit) and stayed on the back bumper of the other all the way to 110 mph... Had I known the guy was going to throw his hands down so quick I would've destroyed them out of the hole and I would've probly had the other hatch on my bumper thewhole wayinstead ofthereverse... Either way it was a strange way to come up on a race on a 65 mph highway that cars had stopped up... And either way I took my loss like a man to the hatch. But I know in my head who really would've had the better start and prob. won had I known the way they start their races...

Either way it gave me a lot more respect for the damn hatchback

 

So what's been done to your car?

 

Well, at least you are a man about it, i think you should go out now and beat everything else you can to fix your brusied ego [sm=gears.gif]

 

Intake exhaust short shifter and I got a chip that I haven't put in yet... I think i'm going to this afternoon now

 

And you beat a 350z? And Eclipses? GST or GSX? Done up Cobalt? Those little Cobalts are 200hp supercharged....and they're light. Amazing.

 

The Cobalt's aren't too impressive but if you really did beat a Z and GSX you shouldn't be stock.

 

350z to 75 and the gsx is my buddys... He beats me from a roll but from a stop I have him over 100...

The 350z was bouncing his rev limiter before the race... I was reving to 4500 like normal ( I don't like reving too high or my transmission seems to lag)... I dropped the clutch and was out and I heard him burn and come up finally at just over 70... My friends gsx is also legit and you are in luck because I just bought a camera... I'm going to be tapping this weekend probly... Know of any good sites I can put the races up on?

I don't know if people who have 2.8's are in the same boat with me or maybe they can't drive... I took a few hours when I first got it to really tweak out the gears and see what was the best shifting sequence was... I had a buddy with me and we found that if I dropped the clutch at anything over 4500 the transmission seems to lag and it wasn't me because I was literally moving my clutch foot all the way side of the car... But right when I hit around 4000 to 4500 the response from the car was awesome... And it never really led me to believe something was wrong with the transmission because there has been no signs of a bad transmission... If I race from second gear the response is not bad but third gear I won't even bother... I'm hoping with the chip it can help out my top end...
