Jacking car
Excuse me if this has already been addressed. I was wondering how and where do you jack up your A4 and place jack stands. The reason I ask is because the Tech at the local Audi dealer seemed really reluctant to answer this question. I told him that I had a hydraulic floor jack and 2 ton safety stands. The only thing he would commit to in terms of how to lift the the car is to place a small block of wood on the jack pad and lift it in the same location you would normally use the Audi jack supplied with the car. He then went on to say he wouldn't use stands anywhere for fear of damaging car. I would like to lift and safely support the car in order to remove at least 2 wheels at a time. Any ideas? Thanks.
This guy is a joker. He really was afraid to tell you where to jack the car up??? I'd worry about letting someone with that kind of "knowledge" change my oil, let alone do ANY type of work on my car. It depends on what you are working on. Lift the car by the outer frame areas... (don't lift it by the gas tank...) if worse comes to worst jack it up by the control arms for the front. It's hard to explain where to jack it without showing pics, but go to a REAL mechanic and they will tell ya....
