i have couple of problems 2002 audi a4 1.8t
1. i think my cat is clogged because it feels like theres no power.
2. its smoking from under the hood only at idle near turbo and cat smells like oil and when i take off it blows a little smoke and goes away
i dont kno what to do or what to look for never have a german car before

 

Damn we bought the same car.

Do you have a check engine light on? If the Cat was clogged you would have a check light and most likely be over heating the motor very quickly.

I've had my car about a month and have had similar issues. I would check for vacuum leaks and try the old Sea Foam in the vacuum system trick.

Sorry I can't be more help but I'm still learning this car as well. I'm trying to figure out if I have a bad DV right now myself. Boost seems to bleed off almost as fast as it spools up.

Been reading a lot on here someone will know exactly what your issue is.

Oh yes I should have mentioned I had to replace the Valve cover gasket and Cam Tentioner seals for my similar smoke/oil smells issues.

As for the guy asking, what do you need to know? It a 02 A4 1.8T with the APR 93 tune, cardonio intake and full APR stainless exhaust system minus the down pipe. Not sure what HP it should be making with all the upgrades but I don't think its even making its full stock HP. I just never really feel the boost and it sounds as if its bleeding off into the intake. I do hear the DV when I release the throttle.
