Default Just got 99.5 1.8T....question

Hi I'm new to the forum and this is my first Audi. I had two quick questions and was hoping somebody could help me out. First of all I was looking to upgrade to hid's. What would you recommend...oemhid.com? Also, the car came with an S4 grill/bumper and I would like skirts to match all the way around for the sides and back. Is there a good place to obtain those? Thanks for the help in advance.

oemhid is good...

Side skirts can be purchased from the dealer. If you do your own research you'll find the part numbers i've posted before. Then you can plug them into some online oem part websites like worldimpex.com.

check out the "audi links" sticky at the top of this forum. there are many sites for new/used performance/oem parts on there.

Some people say APR some people say GIAC. GIAC is said to have a sharp power curve and APR is said to have a smoother powerband.

EDIT: quick search will yield plenty of info on the chip subject. just remember to stay away from the neuspeed as it does not provide the gains that APR or GIAC will.

^^^Thanks, I will do more research on the chips. Are the H7 Plug and Play the ones to go with from oemhid.com?

correct...if you plan on ever doing a big turbo upgrade, go with GIAC, as they have an excellent upgrade option that basically gives you full value of your chip towards the purchase of the K04 upgrade with a new chip....if you arent going to upgrade turbos, i would go with APR...that's just me though, i would say the majority of people on this forum will say GIAC

From what I've gathered in searching the forum, the APR seems to have better numbers but the GIAC delivers a moree noticeable change. Also, the APR can be switched between programs using the cruise control stick while the GIAC uses a remote control. Is it worth getting the second program to switch to stock if my car is no longer under warranty? If I do get separate programs, where does the GIAC remote go? Is a TIP chip also recommended?
