Ok got some more info on it:
the clutch is an awe 6 puc
the injectors are apr stage 3 (he had 750's, too big)
the turbo is the gt3071r, went out at 50 miles and got rebuilt
the kit is a pieced together kit- atp manifold, gt3071r turbo, custom 3" stainless exhaust
APR stage III chip
says theres a air/fuel/timing contoller behind the pedals for tuning (frogot the brand) but I didnt see it (it was dark)
He said he HAD the apr stage 3 kit, and wanted to go faster.. also had the apr full stainless exhaust and said he wanted better. He told me it needs to be tuned, bad, and its running pretty rich. He sold it because he said it was too hard to tune, and he didnt want to dump anymore $$ into it- traded it in at the dealer for 10k for an 01 s4.

so we now see the reason the previous owner (the cool one) wanted to ditch it

I just found out from the orignal owner, that im the only a4 to have the split second fuel/timing controller.. All I need now is to find a shop who can tune the car with it

if youre willing to take a roadtrip, and i'm guessing you are, seeing as how you bought your car in colorado...there is a pretty amazing tuner up in davis called 2bennett audimotive. they have a website, but it's pretty basic. give them a call, they'd probably LOVE to get there hands on a car like that. they're one of the biggest audi tuners in norcal, probably the biggest.
