Hey ace, when you said an upgraded clutch, do you mean a short shifter, because the car came with one.

Clutch as in actual clutch. the stock one will handle up to 300 HP, but anything over 250 would toast it pretty quickally. If you get a new clutch, also get a new flywheel. your engine would be much more snappy and resmonsive with a lighter flywheel. and its also really cool when you revv it. it snaps up and drops right back down.

and your exaust shou8ld be fine. like, i have Borla, but i still get the 15 HP it claims without headers. your friend is wrong. headers in your car wont do much until you get a big turbo. even aq k04 doesnt need new headers. but it helps a bit. Your neuspeed will be fine

but actually...the neuspeed, is it a full catback (thats including a downpipe) or is it just pipes and mufflers. because if it had a downpipe (which is a true full catback) then it is all you would need for the k04 turbo.

You sound pretty adamant on engine upgrades...does that mean only engine upgrades? Gotta have power and control. Was it stock when you bought it? If you're looking for the total package:

1. Timing belt (with all the goodies like tensioners, water pump, etc.)
2. GIAC chip (with appropriate diverter valve)
3. H&R race springs & bilstein shocks OR coilovers (many schools of thought on best C/O setup)
4. Neuspeed rear sway bar (a front bar won’t be necessary now, if ever…and it’ll give you a lot more oversteer. Oversteer=fun. Get the 19mm adjustable one)
5. Intake if you want (Just have the right expectations going in...noise, but no power)
6. Shortshifter

That'll do a pretty good job of eating up most of that 2K. And at that point, you might want to have a little $$$ left over so you can think about new rubber or wheels (depending on what you currently have). You can definitely feel the difference off the line with some lighter aftermarket wheels over the heavy-*** stock rims. If you’re on 16’’ wheels, there will be a noticeable difference going to an 18’’ Not to mention they'll look WAY better.

But then again, what do I know...I've got a 2.8 tiptronic :-) Welcome and post some pics!

The clutch itself, not the shifter.

Save some money for wheel bearings, MAF and tie rod ends.

i currently have 18's, and i am bpretty sure i dont have a downpipe but i dont know exactly how to tell.

Also does the sport package for the 1.8T come stock with upgraded suspensin, because i am pretty sure i have the port package but i bought it used so i will have to double check, my friend said maybe look on the side of the door. all i know is it came with an s4 steering wheel, sport mirrors and a short shifter so maybe it has upgraded suspension. Eiher way i think im going to invest in a cip asap. any more advice on my other concens would b sweet.

you guys have given me a lot of info so far. thanks a lot!
