Default Just a little confused

ok well time has come to change my oil and im not gonna pay the rip off price at the dealer since i can do it my self! But im not sure exactly what kind of oil to buy and how much. I searched and found the oil chart thing and it says like 0w-40w for mobil one. But isnt 40w kinda heavy for winter wouldnt a 5-30w be better for the winter or is it because mobil one doesnt make a 5-30w? Also what do you guys think of royal purple is that any good?

I use amsoil 5w30. Valvoline or mobil1 are pretty good also.

its not good to switchup oils on a whim, if you do you should probably flush the system and then put what you want in there,i really dont think 40 would be too heavy for winter i know when the previous owner took my car in for service at the dealer they put castrol syntec in it (10 w40)

Shell Rotella-T Synthetic 5w40. It's a great year round oil with an excellent additive pack. Guys at bobistheoilguy.com love the stuff and it will be fine for use in your 2.8. Don't bother with royal puprle.

Oil opinions are like as!holes, everyone has got one.

Here's mine though. I use mobile 1 0w40.

But I am 1.8, you are 2.8. Any good 5w30 or 10w30 should be fine for your car. I would say mobile one, valvoline, maybe royal purple if you like it.

haha yea! why would i wanna spend an extra $30 for the dealer to change my oil and brake something else. I find it funny how when cars go to dealers its always fine when it goes in but they somehow find a bunch of **** wrong once they "look" at it and try to charge you up the *** to fix those "problems"
