K&N Filter worth it?
ORIGINAL: black b5
the only down side to the K&N filter is that it has to be oiled (like any other reusable filter)
that oil has been known to make our already delicate MAF sensor go bad
oil lightly

the 225 TT dv can be bought with cash a a dealer.
The K&N has to be oiled yes, but it also can go 60K miles between oiling. Try that with a stock paper air filter. I had a K&N for years on my sedan and never had any MAF problems. I bought another for the avant last month too.

Months after I bought my K&N, the MAF went out. That is an exspensive part... and I let it dry and everything, Im guessing it was due. If you want to get it, its just another mod to throw into a list.
Question: Why does it have to be oiled? So it doesnt crack or something?

well i did get it, and i installed it. Car really doesnt feel faster, just stronger for some reason. It probably is because of the better throttle response. i would recommend it to anybody, its only like 45 bucks. I just told myself since i dont really play videogames anymore this is like the same thing as a game, price wise.
It has to be oiled cuz that is what catches the dirt and stops it from passing through. The oiling and cleaning kit is only about $20 and you can do it and reinstall the filter in about 3 hours. Just dont use to much oil.
