Neither, all of the filters won't give you any hp. They can actually destroy your MAF sensor and end up costing you ~$250 for a new one, the oil from the filter causes it. Even open air filters, or if you want to call it a cold air intake also AKA "hot air intake" will not give you very much hp, unless you have some descent mods like a turbo upgrade. The stock air box is very well designed, i just can' justify paying $40-$50 for a filter. If i had to I would get the k&n or the ITG filter.

trailboss he has no turbo
I don know, i can barely think of all i have done to my car, let alone think of what someone else has.

He may not have turbo, but he could supercharge it, if that falls into the catagory of "Decent Mods"

im also confused on this subject... sites like lltek or evoms claim their CAI's give a 8-10 hp gain on the 2.8... so this is false?

Just because they claim to give 8-10 doesn't mean they really do. There dyno was probably under ideal conditions where they can "manipulate" the results. In practice a "cai" doesn't really give any noticeable gains. It does give a placebo affect to some.
