Default K&N vs stock.

I found this intake for my car but my friend said that it wud not make any difference or mite even lose power. Is there a mod for my airbox? or should i jus get the intake?.I presume it wud sound better with the K&N. Any other advice to make it sound louder/better without an exhaust wud be appreciated too. Thanx for any posts.

I dont have any experience with a cone filter but have always heard and read about loosing power because of the hot air being pulled in from the engine . Just get a K&N drop in and do the stock air box mod.
