Stop looking at the numbers. A ko4 is going to be better then a ko3 all the times. It has more agressive blades, and flow more. It pulls harder and longer in the rpms, making you go faster. It can make 350ft/tq, its not a hp turbo. Dont look at the hp output.

but on a "bang for the buck" look at it:
'99 = 150hp stock + 15hp w/ exaust = 165hp.. K04 claims 235hp (pre-exaust, 250 w/ exaust)
250hp - 165hp = 85 hp diff. for $2K ( 47hp of which can be obtained with a chip alone ) - K04 = 38 x-tra HP for $2K
'01 = 170hp stock + 15hp w/ exaust = 185hp.. K04 claims 235hp (pre-exaust, 250 w/ exaust)
250hp - 185hp = 65 hp diff. for $2K ( 40hp of which can be obtained with a chip alone ) - K04 = 25 x-tra HP for $2K
...considering a chip alone will get me 40hp on the K03-sport models, i think i'm gonna have to find my sport-K03 sufficient enough for my needs right now.
economically, it doesn't seem to be worth the cost
and if it has querks, it's even less worth the $$

I took my car into AWE-Tuning last night (10/31/05) and upgraded my chip for the K04. I was talking to the guys there and they informed me that the overboost problem for the '01 and '01.5 models had been fixed--so the throttle body doesn't close at 19.5 psi anymore. So for you guys out there that are having this problem, get your cars back to your local GIAC dealer and get the newest software update.
I also wanted to let everyone know that the next time you change your plugs you need to use the NGK BRK7E or BRK6E. I changed mine this weekend. Boy what a differece. My car idles smoother and runs better. Hell, the exhaust even smells cleaner. The best thing about them is they are cheap...$7 for 4 plugs and 15 minutes to install them. They even came pre-gapped...correctly.
