K04 Dyno results
Hey guys-
I finally got the GIAC chip into my car and functioning. The power with the new k04 (gpopshop) is intense! I know it's nothing compared to you BT guys, but for me, it's definately like 'ohhhhhh yeah'.
So a while back, when i chipped my k03 with giac, I used some software by Auterra on my palmpilot called Dyno-Scan to get a pretty decent idea of what my hp / tq curves looked like. I then had it dynoed at Moon Performance (mustang dyno) and compared the results, which were actually not that far off.
My post is here, if you didn't read it a while back.

Well, now that I have the k04 in and tuned, I used the same settings on the same software to get an idea of what sort of gains it gave me. I added the data from the stock and chipped k03, and put them all one graph. What do you think?

Quite a bit of gains, especially in the torque department!
For some reason it stopped recording at 5k rpm, I don't know why.... I'll do another test later after work.
So the maxes were 202hp / 243 lb/ft. The only thing that's unfortunate about this method is I'm pretty sure they use a 15% drivetrain loss, which should be significantly more with quattro. I'm considering trying to alter the results.... but I don't really care what the absolute value is, I'm only really looking for the departure between stock / chipped / k04.
I'm happy with the results! I think this is a fairly accurate measure of how much an a4 has to gain with dv, k04, fmic, giac tuning and 5bar fpr.
Next... PC-16!!! haha, soon enough.

202 hp seems way low for a k04/k04 chip. Hopefuly itsjust your palm pilot program thats inacurate.
Regarding your signature- You know it would take you less time to actuallyput in the fpr compared to how long it took you to add "5bar fpr getting installed currently" to your signature ? [8D]
jk, I know its already in.
Congrats.

Chalk the low numbers up to the increased drivetrain loss not accounted for. It's not the numbers I'm looking at, just the change. And it makes me happy.
Does anybody else have this software?

How are those numbers low? Most fwd cars running a k04 are only making 215-225whp and 240-250wtq.
What psi was this at?
Also dont worry about it stopping at ~5700rpms, everything is far downhill from there.
