Okay quick question. I have asked it before but it was never really answered and the search just brings up results of threads where other people where told to look in the search so....... Real quick. If I have a k04 with all supporting mods -an agressive file what is the hp gain I can expect to get from the k04. Anyone with one, what was your hp with k03, what is it with k04. Im not shopping around for what I should get or info on what I should do. I have my k04 sittin in a garage its probably goin in about a month or so from now I just want to know the figures.

Thank you for your email. Nope you need to run the mods listed below. The power gains are approximately ~240hp - ~275hp depending on how healthy the engine is and if your intercooler is quality one. The biggest problem if the file doesn't run right is if the intercooler isn't top quality. The chip is 1.4 bar on most cars through the mid-range and 1 bar at 5,500 - 6000 where peak horsepower is measured.

The following is a list of the mods that are required for the PC16 file:

I'm hoping to be able to squeeze into the 280-300hp mark with my KO4...will be tough tho.

 

The problem with that is I am tip. If your tip you need a level 10 tranny to run any agressive files. Thats why I said all performance mods -agresssive files.

 

i'd say about 230ish with a non-agressive giac ko4 file...won't need the any tranny mods for that.

 

I read some posts that I found searching and someone knowledgeable was saying that they have seen people run pc-16 files on a tip tranny and it was fine. They had it like that for a while i think and there was no damage done. Can't remember where I saw that.
I believe also that same guy said something about running BT on stock tip tranny. I'll see if I can find it again.

I would say you would be walking a very thin line with a pc-16 file on a tip. the pc-16 file almost produces as much torque as a BT kit. I guess if you're real gentle with it you would be fine.

 

PLEASE DO I love to be able to do an agressive file. But please I would still like info from you guys on actual hp gains from the k04 I can already see this thread going in a different direction which is what happened every other timeI have seen it asked. Thanks guys
