I was reading this older post (found here) about the K04 turbo upgrades.

I have a 2000 A4 1.8TQM. I already have an exhaust system installed, and I'm getting a fmic and turbo upgrade this summer.

I was wondering if anyone had anymore information regarding the J31, PC-16, or any other files, which turbo (K04-15 or K04-25) goes with what program, and any other hardware that is included with a turbo kit currently on the market (like the AWE kit) or a hardware I would need to buy based on the chip program I choose.

i never heard of a k04-20 i bet that would perform alot better on a k04-15 file than when people put a k04-23 on a k04-15 file. i wonder if anyone has done this one yet. i wish i knew of this model bc i wouda used it instead. bc i know when using the giac k04 software for the k04-23 turbo ur really not getting full potential out of the turbo but id figure ud be damn close with this one since the compressor im assuming is only gonna be tenths of a mm bigger...hhumm someone chime in with so info please bc my turbo is gettin re built right now and this might be a good idea to change the wheel to...thanks

 

It will not perform anybetter without the software and is not a direct bolt up repplacent, get a dif mani and dif software and that a dif story.

 

uh u dont need a diff manifold so someone who knows what they are talkin about and by the way u can run the k04-23 just fine with the k04-15...next

 

dude, dont act smart when ur not. A dif mani will flow better and the different software(custom wrote for the turbo) will make more power, tuning is everything, without it, theres nothing. I have been reading alot of past post audihere, and u sound like ***, dont try ur bullshit with me.

 

how much boost can you put out of that b4 blowing it?

 

obviously u werent too clear..u said u would need a diff manifold...and diff software..which both statements are wrong. ya of course a equal length manifold will flow better but who makes one for a k04...and david k ran the k04-23 with the k04-15 software with great gains so...and yes more could had been had due to tunning but theres no software for it and whos gonna pay like 1k for custom tunning for a k04 turbo...unless ur mindless no one

 

Giac only has software for the k04-15, the pc-16 file is meant to be run with a FMIC, 310cc injectors and i believe a 3bar FPR. You can use the other turbos but its not reccomended especially if you get the pc-16 file. The software was made for the k04-15 no others.

 

audihere, like i said, dont act smart when ur not. I know dave very well from other forums and hes not running a the ko4-23, hes running a ko4-25, and he did not have "great" gains, with that setup, he ran giac software which is bascially a "big" turbo file.
