Default k2motor.com lip spoiler: review

well as some of you know a couple weeks ago i purchased the lip spoiler from k2motor.com .. it was $29 shipped so i figured what the hell.. why not.. i was under the impression that it was the plastic one.. which would be no problem.. but when i came in i was pretty bummed to find it was the flimsy rubber one..

so as not to be a lost cause i figured i try to paint the sumbitch and see how it turns out.. well.. i've come across the problem of being able to get the rubber piece to be as "shiney" as the rest of the paint.. with my best attempts.. the black just keeps coming out a flat color and not high gloss..

so im pretty pissed at this point.. anyone have any tips for trying to get the rubber to shine a high gloss?

thats what i get for buying that cheap **** .. i would have been better off spending another 20 bucks and getting a plastic one from ebay..

DO NOT BUY LIP SPOILER FROM K2MOTOR.COM ..

I got mine from PureMS, it was some heavy duty rubber.

I probably put 8-10 coats of duplicolor clear coat on it. Once you wash your car and wax it all nice, I don't see much difference between the spoiler and the rest of the car. Maybe a slight slight diff, but not enough to warrant me paying someplace $100 to paint it for me.

Haha... flacid.

Yeah mine did the same, I paid like $70 for mine tho. Keep throwing the clear coat on. I honestly did between 8-10 and let them dry about 40-an hour between each. Then give it a good 24 hours after the last coat. Wash and wax it... it should match pretty close in shine.

You want me to take a pic of mine so you can compare how mine turned out?

Yeah i see what you are saying now. I used 400 grit inbetween coats to sand down any little bumps like that. Go to Wal-Mart and pickup the duplicolor that matches the black. It comes in a small bottle, it was $4 I think and I picked up the duplicolor clear coat as well for $4. They turned out really well, no little bumps. Try sanding it then giving it a coat of clear? The clear shouldn't produce any bumps its the black that is doing that.
