damn, my thread just got jacked....

yea, my temp has yet to reach 250, but just driving normally it gets fairly close, not to mention driving hard (which, during summer, is only done at night)

I drive a '98 A4 2.8Q about 75K miles, and live in the Davis/sacramento area. If i drive to Sac from davis (aprx 20+ miles freeway), the temp gauge reaches 250, and the gauge next to the gas gauge has the needle pointing to the last line before the H (two lines over from the middle). This in turn causes my AC to stop sending out cold air. Is this fairly normal driving in 100+ degree temperature? Should i my ride checked out? I'm a fairly new audi owner, but i want to take care of my ride the best i can. help?

Achtuning used to sell oil cooling kits for A4's, but I can't find it anymore on their site. You could try giving them a call.

i'd definitely use this as an excuse to go with an FMIC!

You'll most likely need an extended front end with a body kit - Reiger, Oettinger, etc. so it will fit.

Either way FMIC's will help drop temps and increase performance. Your engine will be able to breath much better.

Several companies sell FMIC units - Ecode, APR, etc. I believe Tom Ritt made his own custom FMIC tubing to lower costs also.

Found out that apparently Ecode only makes FMIC's for the B6.

Here's a link to the APR FMIC - http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/i...oler_fmic.html

If your willing to spend that much for cooler engine temps and more performance - APR is a good route to go.
