Anyone know why sometimes my key wont turn in my ignition? its like my steering wheel lock is on... but its not. I have to play around with it for a while and then all of a sudden the key will turn and i can start my car...... Im guessing the ignition is just a bit worn out.

 

yeah mine does the same thing though not really anymore but I read somewhere there was actually a recall on some ignitions but i cant remember where the whole thing has to be replaced if it get to bad<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

Mine has done that in the past, though not for a while. Used to happen when Id park slightly downhill. Had to jiggle the steering wheel until the key turned.

 

hey yeh you might be right coz come to think about it the only times i have had trouble is when i have parked at home on my driveway or at work and both of those are on a downwards slope! hehe

i believe that because on inclines etc, the sterring column works</P>

my ignition has trouble starting when Im on just flat land. Maybe I need to call my dealer to see if its one of the ones that got recalled. Anyone know the years for it?

 

happens to me too. its just when the key is not in and someone turns the wheel hard . <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

 

yeah active has a point - happened to me yesterday actually. I had turned the wheel hard to cheeck one of my control arms and it made the key stick.

 

This is a common problem, its good that it does that so that way you car wont move on its own or anything, just make sure that when you put your car in park on hills or any type of incline that you put your ebrake while in neutral not in park or drive in neutral.
