hey i got an 01 a4 2.8l quattro and i got 2 things im not sure what they r...the first pic is at the very back of the center console by the rear ashtray...what is the thing in the pic circled? it has an engine symbol with a line goin thru it, but when i remove it car starts fine and there is nuttin but a hole under it????any ideas? k onto the second pic....this came with the car in the glove box when i bought it (used) any1 know what it is? possible the radio code im hoping lol

the first pic is an optional spot were the OBD port could be located. no clue what the second is

 

yea first is where the obd2 goes in european cars I do believe, the second I have no idea

 

the od port in europe? looks like it could be but its a smaller hole than our obd port...right shape tho....so no1 knows what that lil tag is?

 

Tag is definately not the radio code. Radio code is all #'s. I would just put it back in the glove box, and its use/relevance may be revealed at a later more appropriate time. (Like when someone T bones's you and you need to figure out what the part # is for a replacement fender.)... You know that sort of thing......Something like that maybe.

 

Is it the actuall Key code? when my dad got his new truck it came with an actual code that he could give the dealer and they could make a key from just that.

 

possibly a key code...when u loose your keys they can make u a new key with that code

 

The tag is definitely the radio code and the key code....I have that same tag for my '02. The first # is the radio and the second is the key.....Keep it in a safe place!

 

that's a hole in your pants, you might want to patch that. jk jk

yeah it's a key code i had one in my ford ranger.
