I've recently been bitten by the mod bug, and am about to purchase a chip. I've been going back and forth between APR and GIAC, and have pretty much read as much as possible about the two. I was originally leaning towards APR because it seems for my year: 2000 1.8TQ, Tip , they claim +50 hp. On the other hand for my year GIAC claims only +40 hp. Pre 2000 = +47 hp. Torque looks to be the same. I recently found there is a GIAC dealer in my town and no APR anywhere nere me. Also, if my KO-3 ever goes on me, I may be inclined to replace it with a KO-4. So there are two good reasons to go with GIAC. The only thing that is bothering me is the 10 hp diff. I'm sure I will love which ever I go with. Is APR planning on ever doing KO-4 programming? What is the typical life of a stock KO-3 turbo that hasn't been driven to hard? Thanks in advance.

cuz the computer changed in 99.5

 

That sucks, I would have went with GIAC for sure, now I don't know.

 

just go k04 with thegiac chip

 

Go with Giac Chip you'll get huge gains...

 

I have a 2000 tip with GIAC chip - its friggin monster gains.
