So i got my car back from Catalyst Racing today after getting the ko4 upgrade and full service, fluids, plugs, coils etc. I got the updated ko4 software from GIAC along w/ the portable flash-loader to switch programs. Now, i have a bailey's on order, a 5-bar fpr in the mail, and AWE tuning in Denver is trying to get their hands on a borla cat-back. I'm wondering, my car's lag is hoooorrribbble, and the throttle response is laughable, i'll punch it and i can literally count "1 thousand 1" before it starts to pull. (but when it's in that powerband, look out) it's getting there that's the hard part. I'm wondering if this is normal, or if this will all get better once the exhaust is on.

 

Exhaust will help it spool up faster.. not too much faster though.
You should know this all ..
With any turbo there will be lag

 

yeah, i wasn't totally surprised by the lag, b/c that's to be expected, what really kinda gets me is the slow throttle response even at 3500 rpms, i'll just wait till i get the rest of the stuff in and if it's still not running right then i'll get worried.

3500? Yeah right, the "kick" (if there is such a thing with a k04) is in the low 2000s. He isnt spooling a gt28r or t28.

Odds are something else is wrong. Run a pressure test.

 

well if you don't have the 5 bar in yet either I could see this being a problem for you also

 

i ran a k04 w/o exhaust then with exhaust. the exhaust is your problem. youll feel a hudge diff when u add this with the mods you have
