Default lag GT or T3 or T3T4 ...

Hi,

does anyone no if the ATP dyno graphs are accurate at determining how the A4 will perform in real world ie; regarding lag? thinkI read something about how the car can be 'ramped up' or whatever to give better looking results.

A4 1.8Tq
I looked at their graphs and got this forthe torque;

chipped 150 2.3K
K04150 2.25K
GT2X150 2.5K
GTRS150 2.75K

doesn't seem much different between chipped and the GT28RS!-only 500rpmI'm assuming this is with the .64 housing on the GTRS.

Eliminators have maybe 500rpms more lag than on the regular t25/t3 housings. Vortex has a handful of all theelim dynos. To be honest, they make 20-30less hp than the t25/t3 housings and spool later. ALso atp inflates their numbers quit a bit.

what type of manifold do you think is better to get?

can you still get the gt28rs with the smaller .64 housing (quick spool) without going with eliminator?

Take a look at here for some idea about elim 2871r

Inever thought the lag would be that much morewith standard manifold-eliminator vs higher flowing manifold.

seems likely would get more hp with new manifold, but from what I've seen, AWE, ATP.. the stock manifold is pretty good, unless I think want over 300whp.

Making under 300whp even awhp on 24psi is sad with a 71r. The housing is restictive an he is not seeing 23psi until 4600rpms. You can see that with a t25 .64 at 3800-4000rpms and make 20+more awhp. You can even get a .86 turbine to spool 23psi by 4500rpms and make another 35+ awhp. Aftermarket manifolds help, but it is the turbine housing that is making the low spool and lack of power. With the eliminator you trade power and spool for keeping stock or stock replacement parts.

378whp on 103/116oct mix
331whp on 93oct
GT2871R .64 and still having clutch problems.

I beleive it was 22-24psi on 93 and maybe 25-26psi on race with tons of timing.

A fwd TT make just under 400whp with a .86 and a abd intake manifold. with simiular spool as a eliminator 2871r

oh ok, thanks
do you think external waste gate is required-much benifit?

I was thinking about eliminator, but this looks better now;

the atp kit above has the option of external wastegate - different flange.. and vaguely recall reading something about external wastegate reducing lag. But unless their is a significant benifit I'drather keep it simple and cheaper.

internal or external gate wouldnt make to much of a differance on a 2871r. Once you get into the gt30 frame turbos you might want to go t3 instead of a t25 turbine. The link you posted doesnt work but i assume it is the hardware kit. I would go that route instead of the eliminator route. Once you upgrade the manifild to something more flowing for a eliminator you are about in the same cost of the hardware kit. Get the full kit and match it with some revo or unitronics tuning and enjoy having more power and a much more streetable turbo.

On a side note, you will need to keep the boost lower, around 20psi on the t25 .64 turbine because of the low end torque. Integrated Engineering makes some drop in rods for your engine and cost around $320, then you can up the boost to 24+psi daily.
