This is the last straw
Ok, so I've had enough.
I hate scratches, etc. and since I have a 99 with 91,000 I cannot expect my car to be perfect. But I have:
Some tears in the driver's seat leather
Two cigarette burns in the inside upholstery
A big scratch on the hood, passenger's side, and roof
Some pain faids on the hood and roof after I stupidly used some compound to get rid of some stupid stain
Lots of scratches on the hood from little rocks
Passenger side door handle is a little loose
Lots of interior noises/rattles
AND TODAY...
It was really windy and I just got back from driving... well I was doing like 40 and a STUPID BRANCH FLIES AT ME. I HATE BRANCHES. So it makes a huge dent in my windshield and after further inspection I notice my entire windshield is dinged/scratched/messed up. I'm sick of it.
I have OCD and worry a lot. Mostly about my car. Every time I notice a scratch, etc. I can worry about it for hours. Ideally, I would buy a new car every day because cars get worn and it's part of life. But I can't afford that. I hate getting into my car because every time I do I just worry.
I don't know, what can you guys say? I guess this is a sympathy post/help me not to worry so much. The car drives, gets me from A to B, and I'm too young to afford anything new.

If you ask my friends "What's the worst thing about Jordan?" they'll tell you "He parks out in Bum-F*ck Egypt every time we go somewhere, he's afraid he's going to get doored or something, he cleans his car three times a day in fear that a spec of dust may touch his paint, he cleans his wheels before leaving ANYWHERE, he notices every little rock chip in the front end, he notices every scuff in the leather, he inspects his car everytime we get out to make sure we didn't leave an unsightly microscopic scratch on any part of the interior, I could go on for hours... But the worst thing... And honestly, the scariest thing... It gets real annoying when he tastes his oil to make sure there aren't any metal particles... He's out of his mind, and everytime I see that Audi, I want to key it just so his heart will explode and we won't have to deal with him anymore."
... Hope that answers your question.

Tried prozac, doesn't work.
Honestly- if any of you had these problems on your car, wouldn't you go mad? Doesn't it bother you?
I'm sure all of you have some minor scratch or something, but all that... I think it's just me. No matter how well I take care of my car, it gets messed up like this. You guys don't have to deal with it, because your cars are somehow PERFECT!!!!!!!! Mine isn't SIGH

Those stains and scratches... why don't you spend the money and get it detailed. Get a pro to buff out the scratches - that'd solve one problem.
The door handle you could fix for a few bucks, and the little rattles and stuff you could probably find with some time and a friend.
Concerning the rips and burn holes in the leather, you can try to repair them. Otherwise, check the classifieds you may be able to pickup a new drivers seat off someone switching to sport seats.
You should honestly stop letting it bother you. The only people that don't have scratches on their car somewhere, a ding here or there, or some imperfection inside the car are those people that keep their car in the garage under a car cover, wash and wax it every day, never get to have fun really driving it, and take it to car shows.

I doubt you will find many people that spend time on this board will find your car obsession strange. We all worry about our cars because we love our cars. Just take some of the suggestion given: park far away (the extra walking never hurt anyone), detail the car, and STOP smoking in it. I smoke [:@], but I NEVER smoke in any car I own. 86 BMW (beater car) was treated like a brand new Ferrari. Obsessive, maybe, but it made me happy to have a nice car.
