My wife finally gave in on the chip upgrade! This means I will be getting GIAC very very soon! I already ordered the 710 dv. I should have it by this weekend. Im going to get giac next week and install the dv and also while im at it, shave the apr snub some MORE. Still vibrates in D at idle. After that, maybe in the spring ill get an exhaust and tint. That will be as far as I will go because i didnt by this car to totaly mod it out. Any GIAC owners comments are welcome!!!!!

Well, you've already started with the chip, DV, snub mount, go for the exhaust upgrade as well. Besides it gets better with every mod!

 

Congrats on the new mods! Can someone tell me what the tip chip does? Just more agressive shifting? Somebody mentioned exhaust... what is a standard size people go with on these cars, and are there more quiet performance exhausts out there? I have a 3" now and it is loud... which I don't want with my A4 if I get it. Turbos love to breathe.... but I want to keep it quiet. Thanks!

 

my wife still puts the kabosh on getting the chip. something about tickets, gas and my lead foot. bah!

 

like they are going to know... just do it and get the $100 "normal" program so that when you get home with the car you can turn off the power until you are alone in the car

 

Yeah, I would just do it and not tell the wife.

Casopolis: Most ppl go with a 2.5" exhaust unless you have a big turbo. Borla's V2 system is very popular.

 

Thank you for the response. I have noticed gains from 2.5" to 3" on a Garrett T25, but the loudness was not worth it.
