Default Leased A4. Should I buy it?

My first post. I have a 2004 Audi A4 1.8t with sport package, tiptronic and leather. oil change every 3000 miles. My lease is up in about two months. Milage is 24,000. The buyout figure is about $18,000. In the almost four years that I've owned the car I have had Zero problems.I want to buy it.What should I ask the dealer to do or check before the warranty is up? Can I expect any serious repairs before 50 or 60,000 miles( mostly city driving)? Any serious issues with this model?Should I buy it and why?

Thanks for any and all advice. Bob[/align]

your pretty much under the milage point for most things to go. Normaly youd want the front end done around 60, andthe timming belt done around 90. Theres probably more but as far as i know those are majors things to go.

You owned this car for four years, and drove it 24k miles. Is this your weekend car to buy baskin robins and come back home?

well, KBB is about 20k(FWD) quattro a little more..., so if you like the car and you are the only owner.......I would buy it. Your car has really low miles.......

97-99 uses the old style tensioner that fails. No need to worry about changing the belt/tensioner on 00+ until the normal 80-90k mile range. So yeah, there is a reason to do it at 60k miles or less, and the reason is if you own a 97-99 1.8t/AEB engine code.
