Default Leasing an '08 A4 .... CVT or Quattro?

Hi there at Audi Forums,

I just tried a few searches and couldn't turn up any responses to this question. So I am about to lease a new A4, I haven't decided whether to go quattro or CVT. I like the mileage benefit of CVT and I live in Southern California so quattro isn't as useful here. The quattro will bump my payment up $50 per month. Is it worth it? Does anybody have any opinion one way or the other?

thanks,

tranzlucent

First off, welcome to the forums.

I would definitely say that the quattro system is worth it, even if you don't need it for handling any harsh weather conditions, such as snow. I think the quattro handles great...it definitely makes the car a lot of fun.

Cool, thanks! Have you had a chance to try the CVT though? I just drove a 2.0T quattro at the dealer this afternoon and I liked how it handled. What's great too is that the '08s have paddle shifters standard on all models now. What I need to do is go back and test drive the CVT version. My weekend car is an E36 M3, so this A4 will be my daily driver. I'm leaving the sportiness to the M ;-)

I've yet to drive aCVT, I just don't think they would be as much fun as the quattro. I wouldn't think that the gas mileage would be that much lower in the quattro, but I don't know for sure. As far as the $50/month goes, if you've got an M, you shouldn't be worriedtoo much about that.

a 1997 (E36). But its currently in a no mans zone between street car and track car. It was in really rough shape when I bought it, and I've basically been restoring it. Once I get my new car I will pretty much turn it into a track rat [8D]
