Default lil help

ok so i read the sticky above about dv's and bov's. I understand that my car will suffer if a use an atmospheric blow off valve, but i still really want that sound. Now if i chip my car, can i choose to have the ecu modified so that i can use an atmospheric blow-off valve, or do i NEED a standalone system? What are my options? thanks in advance.

this is a touchy subject...im just gonna say get what you wanna get...i do not think there is a chip that "allows" us to use that(i say this because we can..people just dont think its a good idea)... people say it is not good to run bov because our system in meant to recirculate...some people run bov without any problems..just do whatever you want..majority of people run dv's...if you want that noise just get a cone filter,w/ custom heatshield...and you will get that Whoooopppshhh noise..

the only way that you are going to get a BOV on your car is if you go BT and the proper tuning to run a BOV. If you really want the sound that bad then get an intake and chhip and your DV will make some sound. Or you can go out and by a Forge Splitter Valve which releases some or the air into the atmosphere and back into the turbo They run like $175 or a turbosmart 50/50 which is $250. its not going to be as loud as a BOV but its for noticable. I have the turbosmart on my car and i love it!! let me know if that helps you

I am in no way a BOV advocate, but statement is way off. There are some BT files that eliminate the MAF which then makes a BOV more friendly... But lots of people use BOV's without BT's and speacial tuning. As long as it doesnt vent at idle the ecu will adapt to a certain point. Hybrid valves thatare designed for VAG engines are the best to use if you MUST have that noise (or were given one for free to test.)
