Limp mode every two days APR 91 WTF?!
Ok so I have searched and searched but I installed my chip and after approxiamtely 48 hours my car goes into limp mode. And the turn off and turn on mode doesn't reset it. I have unplugged the battery for ten minutes then when i reconnect i get my boost back. I have heard it takes time for the ecu to adjust but it feels like the turbo isn't even working (like i'm driving a geo prizm) and today I heard it shut off too then no boost!!! please help me. should I just keep driving or continue to disconnect the battery everytime? Is my chip bad? I bought it used but he said he had no problems with it and he seemed pretty trustworthy... please help... TIA
does thevacuum line have anything to do with possibly putting my car into limp. I got under there yesterday and saw that the intake air line on the dv was kinked also because it had moved into a weird position. limiting air through the DV? Could this be the reason for limp? not enough air flow? I'm hoping for the best. What's the eprom? and can this be diagnosed using a vag?? thanks for the help guys and I appreciate all of your inputs... may have to run stock for a while dammit!
and by the way I WILL SNAP if I got ripped off.... [:@]

If you are in limp mode then you need to scan the ECU for fault codes. Maybe the chip is causing extra strain on your car and has broken something like say the DV or a vacuum line.
yesterday i looked at my vac line... its frayed and brittle and needs to be replaced asap (today). I'm sure there is many holes in it. could this be the problem? also the intake air on the dv was kinked so only a little air was getting through. could this also be the problem? my chip works great otherwise (for 2 days). thanks a lot...
i will, 6mm inside diameter right? should i go with silicone or try to find the braided? I also heard of high heat and since the one runs right next to the engine will the silicone be alright? can you get it at loew's hardware or home depot or something? how many feet do you think? like 10? preesh!
No, the vacuum lines should be more like 3-4 mm afaik. When I changed mine out I just bout like 5 feet of 3mm from the Stealership. I have heard many times that porche has really good 3mm lines that don't crack like the Audi ones.
Yeah it needs time to adapt.. I think I probably went into limp mode a few times while my chip was adapting.. The problem with you is, every time you disconnect your battery, the ecu has to go back to step 1 for adapting. So I say just leave it, even if you go into limp mode for a week or 2, then see what happens. I assume you have a 30 day money back gaurentee, you are wasting time by resteing the ecu by disconnceting your battery. Just let it be for a week or two.
O i just saw you bought it used.. Well, just give it time.. Have patience. I KNOW i felt the same way you do when i first got chipped.. One time my car wouldnt even start, a few times it was like there was no turbo which had to be limp mode. Just try to give it time and let it work itself out.

Something is wrong if APR stage I chip is causing you to go into limp mode. When I got mine I felt a big difference as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot and it just got better as the ECU adapted. It's never thrown a single code.
Until you get your vac hoses replaced you won't know whether there really is a problem with the chip
