Ive also got this problem. My mechanic said it could be the fuel pump on its way out or a gas cap not sealing when it is trying to pressurize the tank

got the same problem, nobody could tell me what it was. it has since gone away, which makes me suspect the fuel pump is starting to go

well the cap is always screwd on tight, the weird thing is that it only happens when i put new gas in, then the car wont start right away.

Same thing happened to my eclipse, so what do you do when somethings broken? You upgrade of course, so I bought a walbro 255 and a fuel pump relay and the problem went away.
