Looking at a 2002 A4 Have some problems Window and Washers
Looking at buying a 2002 A4 1.8T. Leather and all weather package. 87, xxx miles. Automatic.
Has two issues:
1. Rear window rolls down, but have to assist it back up (Pull with two hands one on eachside of the glass).
2. Headlight washers. They don't pop up/spray/leak (Yes headlights are on and It is being held for plenty of time). Either switch or pump?
What do you think the issues with these two parts are?
I am thinking the regulator for the window and the pump for the headlight washers.
Any assistance would be helpful before I make an offer on the Car.
Thanks in advance.

1. first problem looks like your window regulator broke, i had to replace 3 of my window regulators so far, it is a common problem. buy the part at the dealership and then piece out your door, take the broken one off, put the new one on. first time i did it, it took me 3 hours total to do it, but the other 2 were really quick when i had to do them.
2. did you check fluid? it should shoot out as you spray your windshield. its not suppose to pop up, it should just spray out on the head light.

Can you use silicon lube in the window guides?
Regarding the headlamp washers, I always thought they popped up, and I think it was the owners' manual that indicated this. Actually, I wish that Audi had included an option to cancel the headlamp washers for a single-use override... I just washed my car the other night, and was driving at sunset with my headlamps on, when I received a gift from a seagull on my windshield. When I pulled the lever for soap dispensing, I forgot about the headlamp washers, and how they are activated when you have the headlamps on....Next thing I know, my hood is coated with washer solution!
It only took one instance of this to learn my lesson! Now I will remember to shut off the headlamps before washing the windows, the next time I am "targeted" by fowl.

I checked fluid to ensure that there was enough. Windows are squeaky clean (sprayed plenty there) but nothing to the headlights. It is a feature I use all the time on my S4, and my girlfriend would probably not use this as often as I do but it will effect the resale value as many people here in Colorado use these a lot in the winter time.
I just dont want to purchase a vehicle with "problems". any other assistance is appreciated.
Thanks.

well if she wont use it much dont' bother with it for now. and it shouldn't be a big problem. see if u can push it up manually with ur hands and then have someone activate it. as for the windows same as A4speed said. just becareful with the glass. make sure it doesn't slip and fall. on my B5 i have to have my lights on, pull the washer **** and flash the highbeams for the headlight washers to work.

well its definitely not a problem to be concerned about, unless you absolutely have to have it. when i had my S4 bumper put on i didn't even deal with them at all, they are not even on there anymore.
are you buying this from a dealer or private owner? if it's from a dealer, you should have them fix the problems?
