Default looking for a4

I am turning 16 in a few days and i am really interested in the audi a4 and i would like to know with your opinions if this is a good car for me. Also, i was wondering if $5,000 is enough to buy a decent a4?

$5000 is definitely enough to get a decent A4. I just picked mine up a few weeks ago for less than that. But as with any European car, just be prepared to spend a good bit of money on repairs and maintenance.

if you got 5 grand i would be looking ata 96-97 12v 2.8, that would be the most reliable one, if you dont care about reliability and your parents will be paying for your repairs than get a 1997 1.8t IF your looking to mod the car for more speed... if you just want looks than the 96-97 will be perfect and hella reliable.

$5,000 is enough to get a nice A4. I picked mine up for $4,400 a month ago with 106,000 on it and it runs like it's new.

how often do a4's usually run across problems? Also, what problems do they run across the most and are the repairs really expensive.

for starters, be sure to use at least 91 octane, and try to not have a heavy foot ALL the time... Saves me like 30-45 Miles on a tank when i drive her gentle...

remember, it is going to be a car that is over 10 years old, so there will more than likely be issues that could be costly. Yeah, but I guess the 2.8L 12v would be the way to go for reliability.

depends on the condition... usual range I see them for is 3,000 to 5,000+. The better the condition... yea u get it. Had mine for i think a week, and spent a thousand already. Coolant light just came on last night. Anyone done a flush themselves? I'm @ work and I'm wondering if I can do it like quickly without having to get vigorously dirty. I would let the crackheds do it, but I don't want to kill them for missing parts on my vehicle.
