Default Looking at an A4

Tomorrow I will be looking at a 2004 A4 1.8T Quattro. Just wondering if there is anything in peticular I should really pay attention for. Or if there is something that plagues A4's that I should be aware of to test the car for?

Or just any opinions about buying a used A4
Thanks.

Well, make sure it has a manual transmission, for starters. Also, service records are good to have, and just to be on the safe side, check the engine for sludge (on the dipstick)

Service records for sure. If you have any friends that are familiar with Audi's, bring them along and have them give it a look-see. Check the mileage too. I always use the average of around 11,500 per year, so that "should" put that car around the 34k mark. If it's way higher than that, maybe inquire if those are highway or city miles.

Yeah I am familiar with automobiles in all these senses. I am looking for more specifice things about an A4. I know 30,000 city miles is the wear and tear of atleast 60,000 miles on the highway. Im getting a Carfax because dealers can get them for nothing and all that stuff.

Just wondering about the little crap that is specific to the A4, because I dont know much about Audi's quite yet, but its just a matter of time before i know every dumb detail!!

See if you can get thedealer to vag-com it and see if it's throwing any codes. They'll be able to tell you if there are any problems that aren't evident on the surface.
