I am looking to buy an 03 A4 1.8T Q automatic and would like to know if there is anything to look for while shopping....
ie: any options that are must-have's, or problems on certain build dates, or recalls to make sure were done....that sort of thing.

also, I'm sure this has been asked, but what are the first basic mods to do on it just to get a little more power or replace possible problems

well you say 2003 A4 i assume its also the newer model also ?
what are the specs from it ? milage , HP etc..

as for mods
heck exhaust , airfilter already can do something

Yeah get a B6 which is 2002 and newer modles. You wont have a problem. The 1.8T is more modable than the 3.0.

 

I just picked up an 03 1.8TQM loaded for $22,900. They seem like really solid cars. Unfortunately my fuel pump and left rear window died in the same week, I just got it back from the dealer. Only thing Ive heard is the fuel pumps going bad. As far as mods go the first thing everyone seems to get are the computer chips. APR, GIAC, etc. Its a ~40hp gain for $500. Im still pretty new to Audi so Ill let someone else take over...
