looking to get an 02-04 A4, some questions
I currently have a 2006 Scion tC with 13k miles on it. It is terrible in the snow. I like the A4, 1.8T, and i have been looking some up. an 02-03 with 40k miles goes for about $14k, not bad. was wondering if theres anthing specifically that i should be looking out for when buying an A4? specific problems this car has? and packages/options i should try to get?
I wonder if Dealers are willing to do an equal trade, because my tC is in mint condition with many factory options. Its basically been sitting on my lot.
any tips, feedback is welcomed.

throw that damn scion and buy the a4. you will never regret it my friend. i used to be a honda fan but after owning a 2nd hand audi, i never turned back my head again. havent have any major problems so far, some wear and tear that needs to be changed. you might have a problem with the coils, and ud definitely want ur timing belt, water pumped change on the 90kmiles. but u might wana consider having the water pumped check nowto be sure. and dont forget the coils. more expensive tune-ups, parts but thats why the forum is here to helped out. i drive a 2003 a4 1.8t manual fwd...fun fun fun
A scion is actually pretty decent in the snow. It comes with high performance summer tires stock. Super sticky and handles well for a FWD, but sucks in the snow. Wineter tires or good all seasons solve that real quick.

"a scion is actually pretty decent in the snow" ........... "super sticky and handles well for a fwd, but sucks in the snow"
and i wouldnt be too sure on a direct trade. dealers give you absolutely nothing for your car and sell theres high. Trust me, I been in the car business for 4 years now and I know it pretty dam well and im pretty dam good at it, lol... it also depends on how much you owe on your scion, cuz most likely your upside down quite a bit unless you put about 20% down at the beginning of the purchase and even if you did you can still be upside down if they high grossed you lol...
best bet if you wanna get outta your scion and into an audi for the best deal is to sell your scion private party and get good $$$ for it and than buy an audi private party so its impossible to get high grossed and plus you dont gotta pay sales tax which helps a ton in the long run.
i most def would not trade your car in, the stealership is gonna kill ya on the trade in value. i bet if you sold ur scion yourself and then purchased an audi from another private seller you could easily get an even trade.

Scions suck with OEM or OEM like tires in snow. With winter tires they rock. My boy was whippin his the last few blizzards we had in NYC.
check on www.audizine.com in the b6 forum, that is the series you are looking at.... mainly b5s on here....
keep in mind that audi will need a pricey timing belt change about 75-100k, it can be done for about $300 yourself.....
audis are great in snow, very reliable, but service and parts will be more than a scion.... look into getting a vagcom if you are a DIY guy
you will never go back!
oh and sell yours to a private seller then buy your audi.. looks for a USP (ultrasport package)
