Default Looking to get a manual A4

So, I keep finding great deals on 2001 A4 1.8T's with automatictransmissions. I was just wondering, all of you guys with your 1.8 Turbo engines, can you mod automatic 1.8T's as much as you can sticks? I currently have a 2.8 and I am, well, kind of bored. I love my car but I am shooting for a 1.8T in either blue or black. Thanks in advance..

I think almost everything is the same for manual and tip as engine upgrades go or if it's not there is a version for both. The tip can hold more hp and tq stock then a manual. You can get a chip for the transmition so it shifts faster but thats $300 i think and it's supposed to be slow stock. I'd wait and find a good manual unless you need it asap for some reason.

i guess the best advice would be too just hold out untill you find one you really want, if you dont want an automatic, then keep searchin, you'll be happier in the long run with it.

Dont settle for an automatic unless you have a wife who cant/wont learn how to drive stick, but will be driving the car too. Its the only excuse. You can make sure this never happens by agreeing to having your OWN car instead of sharing cars from the begining... Hmmm.... Regrets...

i sold my frist s-10 for that reason, got a 96 jetta, turned around 6 months later and got a blazer and a cabrio........ then since we both had our own cars, i got another s-10 and came over to the dark side with my a4

so stay away unless you have to get it...... if like onepoint 8 says, you gotta share, get another car, that youy 2 can share, then get your a4
