When I turn my the wheel, there is an unbearable noise...that's pretty much any time I turn. However, once I get up to about 25MPH, the noise goes away. I wish I could go into depth about what's going on but I have a feble knowledge of mechanics. Thanks in advance!

 

Have you checked the power steering fluid level?

 

Just now, my father realized that it was indeed the power steering fluid...that is no longer an issue.

 

Make sure he only puts in Pentosin steering fluid, absolutely nothing from autozone, etc.

 

my 2002 A4 has that sound too, what stores sell that fluid?

 

The Audi/BMW dealer and online tuner shops. ONLY fill with PENTOSIN CHF 11s. First check to see if you are low before you go buying any.

Because you can only use mineral oil power steering fluid or you will burn the pump out. Pentosin is the only fluid maker I know that makes what our car's require.

 

My local napa auto parts store carries it.

 

yeah if you use petroleum based fluids (STP etc) you will fry the pump and ruin all your seals, and then you are up **** creek.
