Loud hum coming from rear
Im new to the forum and was hoping someone had experienced this problem before. I have a loud hum coming from the rear of the car. the tires are balanced, the rims are strait. it is not engine or exhaust related, it doesnt happen at idle. when you make right turns it goes away and is louder when turning to the left. the faster you go the louder it gets. any help would be depreciated.
had a loud hum coming from my rear passeneger side.. it was definitely the bearing. had both rears replaced and all was good.
biggest clue was sound generated during accelleration and cruising. the sound was not there when i was stopped/idling.

it was the rear passenger bearing causing the noise. when the mech had her up in the hoist he spun each wheel. there was a definite distinction between the good bearings and the defective one. One was noisy (slight grinding sound when spun) while the others were pretty quite.
For a few more bucks he replaced both rear bearings (instead of just one).
There was no issue with teh axle.

The bearing on my front right wheel went out and had your problem. Its a bearing on the back. When your going really slow... when the noise first starts is it almost like a thump thump thump??? And then into a constant hum? Idk, that was my thing. Im standing by the bearing problem.
