Lowering my a4 with springs?
ok i am going to lower my car because after i put the rims on the car looked like a 4 wheeler. two of my friends one has a a6 has the sports springs on it and its been a year had no problems. other with a GTI lowered it about 1.5 inches back 1.75 in from with springs had no problems with just springs. sum say it will blow your stock shocks is it true or is there certain range that i should go?
I have lowered 2 A4's on Eibach springs without changing the shocks with no problems. However, I've heard the same thing as mentioned above, but haven't had either car long enough to need to replace the stock. Either way - you should be fine in the short ter
how long your stock shocks last will depend on whether you have the stock sport or non sport suspension...non sport shocks will only last a few months max on aftermarket springs.
EDIT: also if you want a better ride quality you should change both...aftermarket shocks are designed to match the spring rates of aftermarket springs...stock shocks won't rebound as quickly and will give you a bumpier ride
